KSA has set aside $4.26bn for its healthcare sector in 2012, with a considerable sum earmarked for new construction projects. The projects include the first stage of the King Faisal Medical City in the Southern Province – a 26 hectare facility that will incorporate a specialised hospital, eye hospital, cardiac and neuroscience hospitals with a total of 1,350 beds. It will also have 200 housing units and 200 independent apartments for its staff when completed.
